Post subject: Help with Latin birth record
I captured an image of the attached birth record because I thought it indicated that the mother's surname was Czesniak, a family in Rybowo that I am looking into. I'm struggling with deciphering many of the words. I know it starts:
Rybowo, In the year 1840 on June 9 at the time of the morning ? Peter Kornet ?????????? (if a given name is in there, I can't make it out) Czesniak was born a girl ????? named Marianna
I can make out the names Joseph Lasek of Rybowo and Marianna Michalska of Sutaszuwo - Are these the godparents?
Google translate helped some, but I'm still stuck on the bulk of the record.
And I thought Latin would be easier than Polish!
Dziękuję
Gary D.

Gary,
Minor corrections:
June 11 (9 is the hour)
Piotr Kornet and Hewdiges (Jadwiga) Czerniak
Maryanna born on 21 (May, I assume)
Sutaszuwo = Sul~aszewo

Gilberto,
Thank you again, Hewdiges (Jadwiga) I would never have pulled out of there! I mis-typed June 11 and the hour, at least that much I could figure out.
You don't happen to have a "cheat sheet" similar to the one for Polish records that you shared with me before do you?

Gilberto and Jozef,
Here is a little background on why I am interested in the surname Czesniak. I have traced back the family of my great grandmother, Agnes Kuranka, to Rybowo. I have found birth records for Agnes and several of her siblings. Her father was Szczepan Kuranka (listed in Latin records as Stephanus). Szczepan's first wife was Anna Szcześniak. From the records, I have concluded that Anna died in 1874, either at the time of or shortly after the birth of Agnes. the next record of birth shows the mother as Constantia Czesniak. At first, I thought the record was in error and her surname was the same as previously, recorded as the local priest had heard it. Then I realized that Anna had passed away and Szczepan had remarried. There is still some confusion however, as U.S. census records show Agnes' mother as Anna Kouranka. I have found a few other Czesniak families in Rybowo, but still do not know how they all connect.
I have attached images of the birth record for Constantia Kuranka in 2 parts.
After reviewing your posts, the name in my original post is probably not Czesniak.
Thank you both for your efforts,
Gary Deborski
