I am helping someone with their search and we found one document naming the place of birth for a husband in 1867 in Sabaklinsk, Poland Russia and the the wife in Szuberia Russia...last residence shown as Warsaw prior to 1912. Any ideas of what the correct locations could have been. The document was written very legibly but not by the applicant and signed by an "x" so the names were most likely "sounds like" entries. Any guesses? _________________ dmf

I don't have a scanner but I have no problem reading the document....One document, US Declaration of Intention in English....there is no question of deciphering the handwritting...it's written in perfect English cursive...the person who helped them complete the document definitely wrote the cities as Sabaklinsk and Szuberia...I'm guessing since they wrote Poland/Russia next to the towns that it must be from the eastern side of Poland possibly under Lithuania now. _________________ dmf

Everyone immigrating from the area in white on this map (http://donhoward.net/genpoland/kpol.htm) would list their places as "Russia". What are the surnames?
