I recently received an exciting email through the http://polishorigins.com/forum web site. I had joined the site in January, and had entered a lot of info concerning my family research ; names, places, dates, etc., in hopes that there might be someone else looking for the same people.
In October, a gentleman from Wloclawek, Poland, emailed me through the web site, and said that he had read my family info, and that his mother had the same surname as my great, great grandmother, and that he thought that we might be related. He then sent me several zip files containing info he had gathered on his mothers name. In those files was some of the same info I had obtained about my great, great grandmother, most notability that his mothers family was from the same city/town as my great, great grandmother. He then directed me to the www.genebase.com web site, where he had quite an extensive family tree, that was very easy to search through. He asked me to add my family tree, and to add any info he did not have , concerning our shared family name.
Because of the vast amount of info he has on his family tree, we are still searching to see if there is a connection that shows us to be related.
I had posted some of the same info on a few other sites, but have yet to hear back from anyone. I think that is because the other sites do not focus as much on family research, as they do on open forums. I've been able to post quite an array of info, photos, documents, etc., on the http://polishorigins.com/forum site, and I am looking forward to updating my information even more, as the site has added new areas devoted to family research.
As always, in researching my families roots, I wait, and wait, and when I least expect it , something exciting pops up. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
