Ted, thank you for sharing this story with us. Part 1 is very compelling, and I hope you do not make us wait very long for the rest.

Ted answered me that "commos" is Australian slang for communists ... we called them "commies" here in the US.

hmmm, so how did Ted get from Poland to Australia? I am looking forward to part 4.

Ted, Thank you soooo very much for sharing your life story with us. Yours is a different story, compared to most that I've read; people involved in the military battles, held in prisons, and the death camps. I have enjoyed learning about another aspect of how poles lived and survived the war. I was not aware that some forced labor was on farms. Indeed , you were fortunate, considering the whole situation.

James,
I very much appreciate your comments about my life story. I hope that it will continue to be of interest as you read further.

Yes, I was definitely one of the lucky ones because the German farmer was not a Nazi sympathiser. On the contrary, he was a staunch Catholic and hated Nazis.

But some of the other farmers were the opposite and the labourers did experience very harsh treatment.

In fact, the Bishop of Munster made a strong stand against the Nazi movement and was almost executed. I read that the only reason his life was spared was because Hitler was concerned about repercussions from the large Catholic community in that area.

Hi Tad (or, should it be Ted),

Your story continues to fascinate me. You certainly know how to tell a good story, have you done other writing? And thanks for adding the pictures.

I looked up "flying fox" and "skip" ... Wikipedia had a good explanation of flying fox, which led me to zip-line ... Shocked

more, please!
