Post subject: Hamburg Passenger Lists
Hi all--Does anyone have access to Ancestry's index for Hamburg?
Per the Ellis Island index-
1-I have a Franz Franz 'Peplorosky leaving Hamburg on the SS Pennslyvania-July 31 1903 and arriving in NY on Aug 12, 1893. I believe Franz's name should be Peplowski. He is travelling with his 9 y old nephew-a child Stanislaw Chonionsky?
2-I also have Bronislaw Lonczinsky in Hamburg on Mar 24 1903 aboard the SS Bulgaria arriving NYC April 3. Is this Bronislaw Lączyński?
3-Pioter Luczinsky whom I believe should be Piotr Lączyński was in Hamburg on Feb 23, 1902.
Thanks much for your time and interest,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,
Here's the first one. You have to look on the right-hand page. It is 1903 (though I do rather enjoy the idea that they arrived 10 years before they left, ha ha!). Will go back now and look for the other two.
Best,
Sophia

Here are the other two. Each happens to be the top line on the left-hand page.

Post subject: Hamburg list Stanislaw Chonionsky
HI Sophia and Gilberto,
Thank you both...Peplowski was clear in the Hamburg record.
Would either of you take a stab at the 9 yr old nephew's name?
All of these immigrants came from my grandfather"village of Peplowo, (Wieczfnia parish) and all stated that they were going to 23 Prince St, Newark NJ. This NJ address was also on my grandfather's brother 's Ellis Island record in 1903. I am trying to see if there is a familial connection to my Tylickis. I can not locate any of the above names so far in the US censuses.
Reviewing genetika records in Cyrillic is a very slow process-at least for me ! So far I haven't even found a Tylicki acting as their god parent or witness.
Good to see you both,
Nancy

Nancy,
I read as Choncewski the surname of the brother-in-law he was going to meet. Stanislaw's father, I assume.
Choszczewski according to http://geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.php?rid=4218&from_date=&to_date=&search_lastname=choszczewski&search_lastname2=&rpp1=750&bdm=B&w=07mz&op=gt&lang=pol
