Hello !
I am looking for my husband's relatives.
His grandfather was Michal Jusko from Stare Gorecko ,Russia and he had 2 brothers Jan and Stephan. Jan spelled the Last name Juszko and the other 2 ,Jusko.
I'm wondering where they came from, They had a mean stepmother,Ave Zoubl, not sure of spelling ,who kicked them out of the house.
The Jusko family is Catholic, but they say some were Jewish (relatives?)

i cannot find where Gorecko Stare is.After that, they rode the trains and came over to the U.S,.I cannot find the ship but they came to NYC .

If you can help me,I'd appreciate it.

Diedre,

The location of Gorecko Stare is on the attached map. In the 19th Century it was in The Kingdom of Poland (Krolestwo Polskie) aka Russian Poland. It was in the south close to the border with Galicia aka Austrian Poland. The 1907 map shows it just northwest of Jozefow. It was part of the R.C. parish of Gorecko and there are LDS films of both the parish registers and of the civil transcripts.

Wishing you success and a Merry Christmas,

Dave
