Anton and Thekla had a son, whom we know as Charles Jacob/Joseph Wagner b. 1855-1857 Poland. that is all that I know about their time in Poland, except Anton is said to have been a master violinist with the Poland philharmony. I have failed to prove this, the only Wagner musician I can find is Richard. he aparently is not a relative. it is said that Charles changed his name. whether this just means he Anglicised it or completely changed it is unknown. the family traveled to England where they stayed for an indeterminate time, then Charles came to America at some time prior to 1883 and settled in Boston, MA, becoming a mariner. he married Annie McDonald and they had a son, Allan. we know some of the ships Charles worked on, but not much at all about him otherwise other than he is said to have died on Aug 3, 1893 in Chelsea, MA, but there's no death record and I haven't been able to find a burial for him. I've no idea when or where he actually died. |
