I have currently located the Ellis Island immigration record for my great-grandmother, Sofia Palka. I am working to find more information about her lineage as well as attempting to find my great-grandfather's Polish lineage, which is proving difficult. I know he changed his last name to Krause but do not know his original last name. My father has told me that he went by both Walter and William, but all US census information has him listed as William. I have not been able to locate his Ellis Island record either. According to the marriage license in Saginaw, MI he immigrated to the US in 1913 at the age of 17/18.
