I'm back 4 generations but still cannot solve the mystery of Leon (leo) Winkle (Winkel, etc), my grandfather. No idea how he got to the US at age 12 from Witkowo and there is no other record of him until age 20. He died in 1920 mysteriously and tragically in Youngstown, Ohio at age 49. I would love to hear anything from any Winkle or Harvinski. ...William Jones. |
