Not sure if this is the same Sophia you're looking for. The info I have in my Goniwicha/Goniwiecha tree, she was born in 1867 in Poland died in either 1935 or 1946 in Michigan. Parents were Albert (Woicek) and Caroline Pluta.
Hi,

The information you got is:
Goniwiecha Józef 1894-07-04 LaurahÜtte 1940-10-01

Jozef was born in LaurahÜtte.

The place LaurahÜtte is described here http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurah%C3%BCtte
it seems the Polish name is Siemianowice Śląskie

The general access to Polish National Archives is http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/

With "Siemianowice Śląskie" you get a list of 19 results, alas no one with scans online

Several churches are listed by Wiki:
http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemianowice_%C5%9Al%C4%85skie

Geographical distribution of the name Goniwiecha today, 267 persons:

The name Goniwiecha seems to be located in Silesia.
