I would like to present you another interesting photography project. This time it will be something closer to our times.
Zofia Rydet was one of the most prominent characters in polish photography, she was born on May the 5th 1911 in Stanisławów and died on the 24th of August 1997 in Gliwice.

Her major, monumental work is "Zapis socjologiczny" (Sociological record"). In period 1978-1990 she visited hundreds of villages in provinces of Suwałki, Lublin, Rzeszów, Kraków, in Silesia, regions of Spisz, Orawa, Podhale.

She tried to create the image of society, especially in rural areas. She photographed people in the interiors of their houses. In those pictures we can find an image of very simply life. There is a lot of poverty, illness and senility, but there is also some kind of beauty. Sometimes it is hard to believe that the pictures are taken just not so long ago. And I am sure that in some distant corners of Poland there are still houses like those in Zofia Rydet's photos.
