Tad....thank you for all the info on the Buze/Buza etc name.....could you identify if the name could have also once been Buchalski???? Thank you always.

Interesting question, as Polish etymological works are giving the supposition your family Buze would originate from the old Polish language, name, and word "Buza", meaning "nagana", the verb was "buzować - łajać", the surname is also found in the variant forms Buza, Buzak (noted from 1680), Buzała, Buzałek, Buzan, Buzian, Buziewicz, Buzian, Buzik, Buzek (noted from 1706), Buzel, Buzela, Buzo, Buzyn, Buź, Buźko, etc.

Buza, Buze, etc. may be found in the Woluszewo/area in old centuries, and even now in the present-day Poland:

According to genealogical indexes from the 19th century given in our PTG - Polish Genealogical Society you can see few Buza from births (1826-1854) of parish Raciazek (before it was Slonsk): http://www.geneteka.genealodzy.pl/index.php?rid=3010&from_date=&to_date=&search_lastname=Buze&search_lastname2=&rpp2=20&rpp1=0&bdm=S&w=02kp&op=gt&lang=
And we can also see surname Buze in other parishes in the area.

Could anyone please help me to find where the Buze name originates?? I can trace them back to Woluszewo, Poland....but hearing conflicting stories of where the family was from prior to Woluszewo. I always heard Hungary but lately hearing Netherlands.

Thank you for any help......maybe the name had different spelling!!??
