I am pretty sure of the spelling being Petryna....I have no knowledge if it's the same root.

I was surprised to see your grandmother's Polish name. It is spelled very similar to my paternal grandmother's name...Pretryica. In English she was called Petronella. I wonder if they are the same name or the same root?

I am looking for relatives in Poland; grandparents are Kasimiriez (Casimir - born sometime between 1870-1876) and Anna (Anotnina Petryna) Szymanski; they were married in Tomaszow Lubelski Poland in 1900; Casimir was said to have had two brothers, one possibly named Walter (in English). Casimir's parents names were ALBERT and MARYANA CHUPKI - Spelling of Chupki may be incorrect. I believe his entire family came from Tomaszow Lubelski but not certain. Casimir and Anna had 4 children (Mary, Frank, Katherine, Stanley born in Poland) and 3 children born in the US (Andrew, Rosie and Albert). My father Andrew, talked about an Aunt Mary, an uncle Frank and an uncle Andrew, but he often called those close to the family who were older, "uncle." The family emigrated to Grand Rapids, Michigan in June of 1912. My grandmother returned by herself to Poland and died shortly thereafter and is buried in Tomaszow Lubelski. This occured some time around 1938 - 1950.

I am trying to complete my family tree beyond my grandparents on both sides. I know there are living relatives in Poland who might possibly be able to help me with this, but I don't know their names. Any help would be appreciated. I do not speak Polish or Russian so it has been difficult.
