Bertha went to USA about 1902. F died and M remarried Jan Rossel. They had at least one daughter, Olga who married ?? maybe Plaz. Olga was sent to British zone after WWII and all men killed. Family may have been from the area around Lipno or Plock. Looking for any possible connection. Family was probably Lutheran and spoke German. Ship's manifest difficult to read but these are possibilities: Jachin, Janiszewo or Josyissy.
Any leads would be helpful.
Hi Wynn, We may have some connections. My father's parents were German Lutherans and came from the Lipno area.
I've been researching several surnames through that area
More to the point, my grandmother's mother (my great grandmother) name was Anna Richert B:~1842 Teodorow. Anna's father was Christian Richert B:1814. I don't have much on the Richert line, but will be working on filling in missing pieces.
Thank you for looking at these,

My grandmother, Rudolf's older sister, always said the family was German and she spoke German. She much have know Polish but, according to my mother, hated both the Poles and the Russians. She was Lutheran in Connecticut so probably Lutheran in Prussia. She was born in 1883 and the Lutheran Records from Lipno don't seem to be on line anywhere that I can find. Also, my mother made a note that the family came from German for the land.

I suspect your first idea is the correct town since there are references to both Lipno and Plock by some of her siblings.

I do think the last 2 ship's manifest are for the same Rudolf given the reference to his mother and step-father that I "think" are correct.

I continue to look.

Again, thank you for your help. Any suggestions or ideas are very much appreciated.

Im not convincend on all pictures is the same Rudolf. Some of towns/villages doesnt exist (or i read with error) or they might be german spoken. Rudolf reported his ethnicity as german.
1. Jessiny, Jerziny
2. Josynny (?)
3. Jesin, Jasień
4. Jarzyn, Jaszyn

I looked for similar sounding towns and viliges. My types are:
Jasień - in a half way between Płock and Lipno, Kujawian voivodeship, in the twenties of XIX century in Jasień Budy were settled german colonists. Later they belonged to Lipno lutheran Parish
http://jasien.jimdo.com/historia-jasienia/

Others:
Jasin - very small village near Rypin/Godziszewy, Kujawian Voivodeship.
Jasień - Rogów/Brzeziny, Łódź voivodeship, there is an old lutheran cementery, people that lived there were ethnical germans
Jasień - Bytów/Czarna Dąbrówka, Pomeranian Voivodeship (Pomorskie), old lutheran parish and church

Looks like Jasień/Jasin name (german Gassen or Jassen) is somehow connected with Lutherans

I'm sorry i made mistake! Google search mislead me to Płock roman-catholic records. My first link was wrong.
On szukajwarchiwach.pl there are records from ewangelickoaugsburski (lutheran) parish just enter Płock in search box and start viewing from 9th page. http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl/search?q=p%C5%82ock%20XSKANro:t&rpp=15&order=&page=9 1888 and 1883 years are missing, but some other dates are around. You may find people with Richert name, some records are in russian, some in polish.
Example scan with Fryderyk Richert from Białkowo (25 miles from Lipno) that had son Jakób - here http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl/50/178/0/4/99/skan/full/yD_N2CH4hl_7FF3PNvsoAg

I have no access to theese ancestry records, only free. You may send pictures.

Thank you for your response. While I am not sure I have found the ship's manifest for Bertha, I have found several for her younger brother who made several trips back and forth between Prussia and the USA. His name was Rudolf Richert (Richard in some census), Here he is leaving Hamburg (8th from the bottom on the right side)

These are all from ancestry.com. I hope you can view them.

Rudolf gives his place of birth as Plotsk, Russia Poland on his WWII draft card and for WWI lists what looks like Plutsk.
Older brother Frederick lists Lipno as his place of birth on his WWI draft card.

I have search the database for Plock vital records of Lutheran parishs with no luck. I will try the second site you suggested.

Thank you again for any help you can give.

GM- Bertha Richert, b. 13 Nov. 1883 f- Barthol Richert, m-Louise Bonkowski.
