thank you all for the information- it did help! I would like to go one generation further; I see that my grandmother's "other" birthplace was "galway" which means there might be a connection to Ireland (maybe).

nadmaj~ The husband on the marriage record Cheri linked is from Baranow, but if the Rozalia Marurska Cheri found on Ellis Island is the right one, she is from Bóbrka. Bóbrka is just south & a little west of Krosno which is in the far southeastern part of Poland. She is also listed as Ruthenian for race or people and this is the correct area of Poland for Ruthenians. Her birthplace on the marriage record appears to be Boboka which could be an incorrect spelling of Bóbrka. ~PL

I think I found her at Ellis Island. She is indexed under the name Rozalia Marurska. The person that indexed her must have thought the z was an r. http://tinyurl.com/kw4qs3b Looks like the same village is named as on her marriage record, and a number of people from that village are on the same page. It's two pages. Under the occupation column you will see some numbers. These should be the numbers and date on her naturalization papers, so you could send for them. I am having a difficult time finding any information on my paternal grandmother from Ancestry.com or other sites including Ellis Island lists.
Her information is:
Rose (Rosalia) Mazurski or Mazurska
birth: may 1st, 1892 or 1894
Father: joseph
Mother: Katherine lupicka
Possible areas in Poland, Tarnobrzeg (district),Tanow (diocese), Mielec (town), Baranow (parish)
