Hello bucki4u,

Pronunciation of Polish Janów is very similar to Janov ('v' is not used in Polish and 'w' is pronounced like English 'v').

Do you have any more information than the town name? For example any bigger town nearby this Janów? There are 47 Janóws in Poland.

I was told my GrGrandfather, John Galus was born in Janov, Poland. When I looked at Polish cities, I can only locate Janow. The only reference to Janov is in Slovakia. Now I'm wondering if my origin is Polish or Slovak? With changing borders over the years, is it possible that Janov used to be within Polish borders?
