                                      I found out that the original Polish surname was spelled Gielicz. It appears to be somewhat rare since there aren't many records on it.</description>

                                      Hello - if it's not too much trouble, I'm interested in learning what the surnames Blachowicz and Gelik (with various spellings of Gelich, Gellick, Gelics, Gillich) mean. I do know the Gelik family member (her name was Ursula) was from Kalisz, which if my research is correct was under Prussian or Austrian control, whereas the Blachowicz family member was from Krasice or Krasicze, which was under Russian control.</description>
