Hi jjbella 1,

I can confirm with Polish databases, your family Polish ancestral town is LIPINKI, the very old Polish village located in the southeast Poland, now counted 2400 inhabitants. The family ancestral LIPNIKI church, cemetery, and parish - was errected in the year of 1624.

For your family Genealogy purposes you can search the family civil/parish records from this town/parish LIPINKI:
1. In the US, with the FHL/LDS microfilms ordered by you from Salt Lake City.
2. In Poland, in the Archidiocesan Archive in Tarnow, they have records from 1759.

For your family Epigenetic purposes please note the info on the exact location, with the other weblinks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipinki,_Lesser_Poland_Voivodeship
And finding the social history of the people living in this LIPINKI and local area.

Family names in the present-day Poland:
Yes, with the high possibility the family of your GGGparents survived in this LIPINKI with all the 20th century, living on the same place, as we can find there, according to the old Polish white pages [abt 2000]:
Eugeniusz Wilczak & family Wilczak, Lipinki, Poland
Jan Wilczak & family Wilczak, Lipinki, Poland
15 inhabitants surnamed Koziol (the full spelling in Polish is Kozioł - L with Polish diacritical mark crossed the letter), Lipinki, Poland

Kindly invite you to visit virtually your family ancestral LIPINKI, so beatifully located in the southeastern Poland, just close to Magurski National Park:
1. To see the panorama of your LIPINKI, please click on two balls on the map of LIPINKI:
http://www.gminalipinki.pl/pl/303/0/lipinki-w-panoramach.html
2. To see some images of the Magurski National Park, please visit their website:

Good luck in your search and life,
jjbella1,

I searched Ancestry and I think I found your family tree which is set for public viewing. I noticed the place of birth you have for Jan Wilczek is Lipinki Lubuskie. Per my earlier post regarding the Family Search microfilms, there are several Lipinki locations, some in former Prussian area of Poland (which seems to be Lipinki Lubuskie in the west/northwest) and a couple in Galicia (Austrian Poland which is more south/southeast). I pointed you towards the films for Lipinki in Galicia (south/southeast) per your original post. However, your ancestry tree indicates Lipinki Lubuskie which seems to be north/northwest.

Perhaps you can narrow the Lipinki location via family information and maybe with help in the Polish Villages forum on this website?

Best,

Family Research Center (LDS) had microfilms for Lipinki. When I search their catalog, I found 5 results. However 3 of the 5 were areas in West and North Prussia during the partition of Poland. The remaining 2 are in Austrian Poland, i.e., Galicia which correspond to your description of Lipinki being in Southeast Poland. Further, it turns out that in fact these two microfilm discriptions: Lipinki and Lipinki Gorlice are using the same microfilms (#949113 and 949114). Together, the films cover births, marriages, and deaths for 1826-1870). So, bottom line is: if you live near a Family Research Center, you can order the films online and they will be shipped to your local center where you can review them for your family information. Here is the link to the films:

https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/351802?availability=Family%20History%20Library

I hope this helps.

Best,
I found this Wilczak information at familysearch.org. I suspect you have this already...

Ellis Island record for Jan Wilczak from Lipinki

WWI draft registration for John Wilczak (wife Mary – Pennsylvania)

Marriage of John Vilchock and Anna Mustage
- mentions parent names John (Vilchock), Mary Kozuo (Kozio??)
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KHFW-SBR
but I could not find many Wilczak hits that were indexed for the małopolskie region of Poland at geneteka.genealodzy.pl
