Yes, they are open to the public, but before arrival one should check if they will have opening hours at the day (or days) you are going to visit them. I am also not sure if there is anyone speaking English...

I should have referenced the post you mentioned above before I sent that last message since I see that you answered it there. Thank you so very much for all the information you have provided so far. I am so excited to be coming to Poland and hope to spend as much time there as possible (my German ancestors just might have to wait until next (hopefully) trip.

Are the archives open to the public. Will I be able to search them when I am in Poland next month (with my very limited knowledge of the Polish language). We plan to spend some time there because we learned the archives are there from the Poznan project website (which by the way is how I managed to locate the information I have found so far - by finding a marriage record on that site and then ordering the microfiche to be sent to the local LDS Family History Center.

Of course, we are talking about Góra parish near Inowrocław, not Włocławek (see the last paragraph of the post: http://polishorigins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2004#2004 ) .

Unforunately, in Słownik Geograficzny Królestwa Polskiego (Geographical Dictionary of the Kindgom of Poland) from 19th century there is little information about Góra parish, near Inowrocław. Góra as a parish seat was rather small settlement. There were only 14 houses in which lived 114 inhabitants. No information about village names which belonged to this parish.
BUT, there are plenty of records from this Góra parish (even from 1600s), also in Gniezno Archives and if you had chance to look at them you would find all the village names which belonged to this parish.

I have traced my great great grandfather's marriage records to the Góra Parish near Wloclawek (Inowroclaw). The current villages in the area are Jaronty, Pławinek, Dulsk, Turlejewo, Sikorowo, Witowy, Góra, Łojewo, Łąkocin, and Radojewice. According to 'family rumor', the village they lived in no longer exists because it collapsed into a salt mine. I know such things happened in that area. Does anyone know of such a village near Góra.

Thanks for any help. I guess if this is true this is one ancestral village I will not be able to see.
