I found both brothers voyage records from 1899 and 1902, and it appears they originated from Berznicki according to WWI draft cards and the voyage information. Alexander Okulanis(~1886-1950) had his parents listed as Antoni Okulanis and Dominika. I was wondering if anyone else had come across such a name. I know Alexander's brother Joseph Okulanis moved to Lorraine Ohio, but can find no one searching the name at all. Any input would be appreciated.

John,

Probably Berżniki, it is in Poland, Sejny area, circa 2 miles to the border with Lithuania.

Okulanis (like many other names ending with -nis) sounds very much Lithuanian.
Most of them are in Sejny area:
https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Okulanis

The good side is that Sejny records are online, http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/

Many Lithuanian archives are also online,
http://www.epaveldas.lt/
FAQ:
http://www.epaveldas.lt/en/duk

Best,
Elzbieta

ADDENDUM:
I just browsed Sejny for 1886, on the right side entry 17 is Okulanis written in Cyrillic, it is a baby born dead.
http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/63/163/0/1/111/skan/full/IyBza_ToryO7VbX1X24j4A
But in 1887
http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/63/163/0/1/110/skan/full/U5zQC9EVvVmfkuK8ueJdng
I see a birth record of Zygmunt Okulanis, son of Jozef Okulanis and Teofila Giniewska
