i guess because she does not show up anywhere in the parish records for drozdowo as marianna celmer after 1899 only other ones with her maiden name of wykowska.
plus, my understanding of russian record keeping for the era was to use the woman's maiden name and not list her with her married name.
i may be wrong - but, that is where i was coming from on this issue.

Thanks for the idea.
But, they had a daughter who died in 1892 with that name.
I have yet to post for translation.

I think it is likely that her death record will include her deceased husband's name. I have seen, for example, a record where a woman remarried after her husband's (quite early) death. In that marriage record, she was referred to as the widow-of-so-and-so. Not saying that your Marianna would necessarily have remarried, just saying that it is likely that her death record will include the name of her deceased husband. What you might do, when you post the possible records, is say you don't want a full translation of all of them, you just want them scanned to see if there is one with a reference to Hipolit.

There is a lingering question that remains having just discovered the death record of my g-great-grandfather Hipolit Celmer (Drozdowo Parish, Lomza / Bialystok Archives)

Being a novice at determining how to find the adjoining death record of a spouse.
This previous death record of her late husband noted my g-great-grandmother's name as the widow Marianna Wykowska from Krzewo.

My question remains...which may be of assistance to other is the following:
1. Will the widow's (her death) record mention her late husband's name to verify i have the correct one?
or
2. Are there any other identifying markers that might assist in such a search?

I have run across a few women with that name for the years following the death of her husband in 1899 that might be her.
But, i do not want to have the wrong record requested to be translated.
