Bakers: You have a more interesting puzzle than you've explained!

You must look at the ship's manifest. If you merely look at the Ellis Island extractions, you're missing all the 'good' information - that you need.

I just brought up his manifest, and it's going to need some knowledge of your other named ancestors. I highly doubt Piotr was married before he came here, as he arrived Sept 14 1908 and it shows he was 6 years old.
I don't believe anyone would send a 6 year old child without an escort. There's no other Nietupski listed. Generally, a parent is listed above a child.

Piotr Nietupski was from Koliw, Poland (Russian control in 1908). His fee was paid by his father and he is being taken to his father, with no address, from or to is on his line, but you'd use the one on the person that brought him, and I'm not going to guess which. This is where I'd hope you'd recognize a relative's name.

Right above his line entry, it is a 19 y/o female, Olesia(?) Lajzer. (she it from his same town, Koliw)
The person listed after him, a 34 y/o male, Stanislaw Plowski(?) (he is from the USA with a 9yr old, with the same surname as his, and also from Koliw)

One of these two, or possibly both is escorting Piotr to his father.
Both people's village, contacts and destinations are listed. I'm having a hard time reading these.

You can email me at my id krampetz@aol.com & I'll send the both pages or you can go back and look at his actual manifest, and find a way to make a copy of your screen when it shows. There's lots of clues in the manifest, but only you can solve them.

Good luck
Hi BobK...Thank you much for your response and advice. I had seen his manifest as arriving 1902 by himself. He did not show on Social Security He died sometime in 1933. I find the Morse use very confusing as I had tryed. I saw Maryanna 1920 Census. Don,t know if they got married in Poland or U.S. or when. I am sorry for the poor data I sent. Once again thanx and I'll keep trying..Frank Baker

Have you found their Ellis Island manifest? You'll not be able to find where without finding his manifest. Poland of 1881 was divided among other countries so writing to ANY place asking them to tell you if he lived their is a 102% waste of time and effort.

Use Steve Morse's EXCELLENT search of the Ellis Island Data Base - much more than Ellis Island can give you if you use his extra features.
http://stevemorse.org/ellis2/ellisgold.html

Or, if you THINK you have relatives that might know, start asking. Any idea of WHEN he died? The Social Security Death list has people from the '70s on, and a few from earlier. You could take a shot and write to New Britain, but I'm sure you'd get back "When did he die? & where did he live"..
