My Polish colleague genealogist Józef read your post and he pointed on a lead which may interest you. There is a young man in Lwow (Lviv) by the name Michail Karabin. Jozef attached print screen with search results and a few web addresses. Maybe it will the simplest way to may contact with Karabins from Lwow..

There are many records from Lwów kept in Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw and Civil Registry Office in Warsaw, click here for details: http://baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradziad.php?l=en&search=1&miejscowosc=lw%F3w&f=0 . For you to continue the search you have to know religion of your grandfather to narrow the search area. Then you could use guidelines for "remote" research in Polish State Archives outlined in the article: "Remote" research in Polish State Archives - practical hints.

Hi, I'm looking for Karabin family who stablished in Lwow (now Ukraine territory) my grandfather (Michal Karabin) born in 1919 in that city, he left because world war two, lived in Witten Germany and later came to Venezuela where is now living. Any help will be thankful.
