I just wanted to give a word of encouragement to anyone in the USA who is trying to find relatives in Poland. We went there "cold" on our first trip hoping to meet descendants via a very good driver and helpful people. We had a wonderful day and did come back with some info from the priest but no one was sure they were any direct relation.

I decided to be more aggressive for an upcoming trip this spring. Through very creative googling and writing another parish priest, I found some leads. The google search yielded a very close connection who are looking forward to meeting with us. In another village, I recieved some info from the priest and had names but no addresses so I wrote a letter in Polish and English and sent them to the village post master. They obviously made it because I just recieved a phone call from someone in Poland! It took a while and I thought it was all a waste of time there for a while. The communication has been slow and tedious but it produced the results!

I have now made direct connections with my grandparents family and my husband's grandmother's family!

I still have to contact Zenon when I set the visitng dates!
