Portable scanner is very useful if you meet family and they can show you old family photographs.  Quality of scanning them is usually better than photographing. However, I am afraid that nobody will let you use your scanner to scan pages in old books... In this case good digital camera is most useful.</description>

                                      Santa brought me a very light weight portable scanner that I will be bringing to Poland.  It really works quite well and I hope to use it when we visit relatives and maybe the parishes there.  Just wanted to suggest that anyone visiting Poland or even using local libraries considers this purchase.  I also intend to use my camera to supplement just in case...&lt;br /&gt;
