I think I am remembering the same rhyme that you are. My grandma used to do this to us when we were little kids:
(also phonetically)
Vashiwa, vashiwa, (in the palm)
Dupka ew pashiwa (still in palm)
timu dawa (fingertip)
timu tesh (fingertip)
mickey mantle (lol) (finger tip)
(?) tesh (finger tip)

It ended with the thumb "popping off".
She would then say something while doing a sawing motion on our wrist, and the whole thing ended with her fingers crawling up to tickle us under the armpit.

This was such a fun memory for me and I wish I would have learned it better so that I could pass it down to my kids/eventual grandkids. Please let me know if you get any more info on this rhyme!
Oh, and also, I think the rhyme had something to do with "Turn around, turn around", (the palm part) "Fall on your butt". Not sure about the fingertips part, but the thumb popping off was supposed to be popping off someone's head??

I. version:

sroczka kaszkę ważyła
ogonek sobie sparzyła...
temu dała na łyżeczkę,

My mom wrote down the Polish version for me to put in the Family History. Some spelling may not be correct:Jiedzie', Jiedzie' pun, pun. Na kuniecku' sum, sum. A za' punion Jiedzie whop. Na kuniecku whop, whop, WHOP! It's about a gentleman riding a horse.

So there was a little rhyme my nana used to say as she bounced babies on her knee. I was wondering if it was in Polish, and if anyone knew of it. (I know absolutely none of the language so this is strictly a phonetic transcription!)

It started out with "nuka nuka tum tum" and had 2 other lines in between, and at the end I just remember her saying "HUT HUT HUT HUT"

That's a terrible recollection, I know, but I was just wondering if it sounded familiar to anybody, or if they knew what it was. I'd love to have it to pass to my kids.
