Probably Maria Chmielowska. I have a friend who was born in Gdansk. His father is Franciszek Rekowski and this father moved a few years from Gdansk to Zyrardow. Rekowscy come from Rekowo. It's kashubian noble family.

Hi - i am interested in finding anything about my fathers roots and whether i have any remaing relatives left in Poland. All that i know is that he was born in 1916 at a place called Dangziel, then moved to Funka, where the family ran a forestry business up until 1939. My father was in the uprising with the Polish army fighting at various places until he was caught by the germans and forced to fight. Later he was caught by the English and then joined up again with polish army under British command. He was sent to Italy untill the war was over. He was then sent to England where he settled. His name was Alfons Rekowski, his fathers name was Franciszek Rekowski and his mothers maiden name was Maria Chiemlowska. He had a sister named Sophia who was married and a brother ( i dont know his name) commited suicide. I believe his father was murdered. I think that they were quite well off, as i have seen family photographs of thier house. This is all i know as my father did not speak much about it. Any help woud be much apprecieted.

Many thanks Jan
