Hello,

Here is a clue for your Grandmother's family. Wikipedia says this about Warez: "Until the Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939, Waręż was a part of the Polish Lwów Voivodeship (Sokal County) and – since 1934 – seat of the Gmina Waręż, a rural administrative district of Poland[6] (Waręż does not appear on lists of towns since at least 1931,[7][8][9] and prior to this it only had market town status (miasteczko), which was considered a rural unit in an administrative sense[10])."

Family Search has the microfilms for Warez. If you live near a local Family Research Center (a designated LDS Church), or know someone who does, you can order the microfilms from Family Search online for about $9. They will ship it to the center near you and you can search for her family records. Here is the index from Family Search:

Poland, Lwów, Waręż Wieś (Sokal) - Church records ( 1 )

Metrical books, 1684-1951
Author:	Roman Catholic Church. Waręż (Bełz)

Also, when I checked Geneteka for Waręż, I found about a dozen entries for Michalczuk in that village, but they were from the 1700s. Note the difference in spelling. Here is a copy of the Geneteka list:

2001	1722 0 Katarzyna Michalczuk	Marcin	Anna Waręż
2002	1710 0 Laurenty Michalczuk	Krzysztof	Anna Waręż
2003	1733 0 Marianna Michalczuk	Marcin	Anna Waręż
2004	1761 0 Paweł Michalczuk	Sebastian	Anna Waręż
2005	1773 0 Piotr Michalczuk	Maciej	Eufemia Waręż
2006	1768 0 Sylwester Michalczuk	Maciej	Eufemia Waręż

I hope this helps. Good luck with your research.
Hello. I am looking for more information about the Linkiewicz (my grandfather) and the Michalczyk (my grandmother) families. I found their marriage certificate and my grandfather's birthplace is Szpanowka and the parish listed is Lagiszyn. My grandmother was born in Liwcze and her parish was Warez. It looks as though my grandfather's birthplace is in present day Belarus and my grandmother's still in Poland or on Ukraine border. I am not sure where to begin so any information and feedback is requested. Thank you!!
