In my limited experience in 4 to 5 years of hard research never imagined the scope of the area of my ancestral homeland could be. Ranging from Vilnius to Kaunas and even into modern day Belarus. I have always wondered if any of my branches were themselves from modern day Ukraine and were Ruthenians? From what I have read (not extensive, yet signifigant) Grand Duchy of Lithuania had lots of Ruthenian nobles (Greek Catholics and Orthodox settle within their borders.

Polish genealogy is such a diverse and fascinating hobby/obsession
Hello Ed.
It looks like the name of the village, depends on language would be Vulsinka / Egreshát = Ol’shynky in Ung (Ungvar, Uzghorog) county, Berezna (today Vielkij Bereznyj) district.
There is no much about it in polish genealogy sites, im sure more would be to find on hungarian sites. There is regional Ukraine Archive district Transcarpathian in Uzghorod:
State Archive of Zakarpatie Region
14a Minaiskaia st., Uzhgorod, Ukraine, 88005
Phone: +38 (03122) 2-35-49

but here is different data on other site http://www.archives.gov.ua/Eng/Archives/ra07.php

Thank you Sirdan. It was under Austrian-Hungarian rule until the end of WWI, then under Czechoslovakian rule until the Hitler took over and now under Ukrainian rule since WWII. I would like to know if anybody such as the Church of Latter Day Saints, has digitized the data. Is there an address that I can use to contact the Office of Vital statistics directly?
Thanks again,
HI, its hard to say is it possible to get records. According to maps in my possesion, that area, near Użhorod-Pereczyn, was not in Polish borders. I didnt follow history of Zakarpatian region, so cant say much about this. Small search gives that Vilshinki village was under either Hungarian or Slovakian rule, but bearing in mind 1905 year, this territory was Austro-Hungarian Kingdom. After more search i might give more info tomorrow, where to search for records.

My mother Anna Pecko was born in Vulshinki, Ukrainine in 1903 to Wasil Pecko and Mary Krivka Pecko. My friend's grandfather Alex Peska was born in Vulshinki on March 16, 1881 to George and Pauline Pecka. Vulsinki as a small village near Uzhgorod. Is it possible to access the vital statistics records, probably in Perichin, to look for a common ancestor and see how closely we are related, if at all, to each other.
