Thank you Aga after looking at other records with the same surname listed in the same registers and some input from other native Polish readers from the Wilno area they seem to think the original "c" is in fact an "e" meaning the name is in reality KOREYWIANKA and the surname is probably KOREYWO/KOREJWO. This name Koreywo is much more common in the area, and a fairly prominent szlachta Koreywo family was from the area so it seems to make sense. So in reality I guess I should be looking into what the name Koreywo means

                                      Hugh,

In the old Poland the female versions of the male surnames were showing the role of the woman.

For wife the endings were: -owa or -ina/-yna
For example: the wife of Mr. Piętka was Ms. Piętkowa or Ms. Piętczyna

For daughter the endings were: - ówna or - anka
For example the daughter of Mr. Piętka was Mrs. Piętkówna, the daughter of Mr. Mazur was Mrs. Mazurzanka (or Mrs. Mazurówna).

So maybe Elżbieta Korcywianka was the daughter of Korcz, Korcyn, Korzec (or some similar)?

My PO friends,

I recently found a Latin record from the early 1700s that had a woman named Elzbieta Korcywianka listed as the mother of my ancestor. I took a quick look around the Internet and did not find this name, now I bring it to the community of experts here who can hopefully help.

Thanks so much
