Dear my fellow PO friends,

I am so excited about a recent development in some nobility argument records that my friend Ola Heska (a highly recommended translator and genealogist). The Okmianski Nobility Arguments (over 10 pages) were summarized by Ola. Going into this I didn't know if this argument contained my branch however much to my Joy it did!!

Here is her typed out summary of this wealth of information:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The document was written on January 23, 1804
The earliest known ancestor was Maciej Okmiański of the Radwan coat of arms, the heir of the Okmiana estate located in the Wiłkomierz district. He had two sons: Stanisław and Abram who used the name Maciejowicz.
As far as it is known, Stanisław left no descendants. In 1645 Abram purchased the rights to Okmiana from his brother Stanisław.

Abram Maciejowicz Okmiański in 1697 [?date illegible] bequeathed Okmiana to his son Stanisław Abramowicz.

Stanisław Abramowicz had 3 sons: Jan, Mikołaj and Andrzej, and his ancestral estate Okmiana Nartowty which he left to his sons to be divided equally. It was not known to the petitioners whether or not Jan and Andrzej had any descendants. In 1716 Mikołaj received from his brothers, Jan and Andrzej, the rights to the entire estate; and left the entire estate to his son Melchior. The second son of Mikołaj, Dominik, purchased part of the estate from his brother Melchior, and with his testament drawn in 1760 and [opened?] on 14 February 1771, bequeathed his entire part of the estate to his son Józef, and a monetary settlement to his second son Tadeusz. Józef and Tadeusz decided to annul their father’s testament and divided the estate of Okmiana equally between them.

The first of Dominik’s son, Józef begat two sonsAdam and Wincenty, as proven by Adam’s baptismal record of October 4, 1782 from the parish of Szaty. Wincenty’s baptismal record was burned as certified by the pastor of Szaty in the certificate issued in 1799. Additionally, Józef who was alive at the time [1804] acknowledged both Adam and Wincenty as his sons.
The second son of Dominik Mikołajewicz, Tadeusz, had two sons: Wiktory and Ignacy (and his son Jan). Ignacy purchased part of the estate [Nartok?] from his uncle Józef.

Therefore, it was determined that Wiktory Okmiański, Ignacy’s brother, as well as their uncle Józef, with his sons Adam and Wincenty, are indeed owners of estates in the district of Wiłkomierz. Therefore, Wiktory and Ignacy with his son Jan; and Józef with his sons Adam and Wincenty were confirmed as being of the noble ancestry.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 5th great grandmother was Ewa Anna Okmianska who was born in 1775 her brother Adam Okmianski who was born in 1782 is listed here so therefore his ancestors are her ancestors!!

I have gone back in this line further back then I ever thought possible!! I owe a great deal of the credit to my PO friends who over the past few years have contributed to this moment. Without the help of so many of you I'd never have found any of this inforamtion.

Sincerely,
