Michael,
It is a profession. And by comparing the letters to the other in the text, I think it is 'krawcowa' = dress maker, here presented in a declensioned form 'krawchym". (First letter is a K, compared to K in 'dokumenty'; the second is a R, compared to R in Ernestiny; and no doubt a W in between).
