Hello everyone, I've decided to post in this forum, since it looks like a lot of people know about polish genealogy and certificates.
I'm currently trying to get the documents to confirm my polish citizenship. Both my grandparents came from Poland to Uruguay. I'm trying to confirm the citizenship from my grandmother's side, since we have more documents from her than from my grandfather (she died only 3 years ago, while he died in 1975). On every document (naturalization, ID card, Uruguayan passport) it says she was born in Wołyń in 1925, but it doesn't say in which city/town (there's a "town" half an hour away from Lodz which is also called Wołyń, but we highly doubt it's there). Since the Wołyń Voivodeship ceased to exist in around 1939, and went on to be a part of Ukraine, I have the next doubt: where should I try to get her birth certificate? Would ir be in Poland or in Ukraine?
