We visited in Zawoja to find relatives and met a person (with our surname) who ran a dental clinic in their home. The patients stay for a day or two in very nice rooms in their three story home at the base of the mountains. Lovely hiking and skiing area. Now that is the way to get a root canal or crown!

                                      Deren,

In Poland the public clinics are under European Union rules and they accept insurance policies issued in one of the EU countries. There is indeed a problem with acceptance of insurance policies issued outside of the EU.

From our experience with American guests if there is a need of using public health institution in Poland there is no problem with that. You will be treated in hospital or any other public medical care center. You will have to pay for that after the visit/treatment you will get receipts and after returning home you should contact your insurance company for them to reimburse the cost your incurred.

In most cases you can pay by credit card and the bills are not high (especially if you compared it to the bills you have in the US).

What should you know about the insurance and medical care in Poland? They have a problem with foreign insurance policies. There are not to many places in the country itself, which might accept the foreing insurance policy. To my mind comes only the american clinic in Wilanow to be honest

Thank you Elzbieta! If anyone has experienced medical tourism in Poland and doesn't mind sharing details about the experience, I'd love to hear about it!
