as to the translation I will leave it to polish speakers. I just have a rough idea of the meaning.

Yes, though it appears as Tereby in present day Poland map.

I have never been able to work out the origin of my mother's surname Tereba, until I was mucking around on Halgal.com last night and looking at old maps. I found the place that her family had come from, Dzikowiec in Podkarpackie (which I highlighted in red) and then looking down I was so surprised to see Tereba as a place on the map and not too far from Dzikowiec (highlighted in green).
