He married Louise Elizabette Schroeter in 1867 in Karthaus. In 1869 the immigrated to the United States. His marriage record says he was a brick mason and that his father owned the business. I have been unable to find any birth or baptism information. I don't know anything else about this family before they moved. They had a son Paul (Powell) som record say he was born in Prussia and some say Michigan in 1869.
