My grandfather told me that his parents were originally from a small village near the Ukrainian border called Wasylkovce. They left there in 1929. Sadly, this village does not exist anymore so i am asking for your help so i can find a town or village close to that area that my brother and I will be able to visit during our trip. Here are some documents of their passports with the name of the village on it in case i have the spelling wrong.
Thank you very much,
Wasylkowce still exists. It is located in Ukraine, near Kopyczynce (mentioned in the passport). Check the Google map:
Hi Tristan,
Just looking at current day map - - I wonder if Vasylkivtsi and Kopychynstsi are your Wasylkowce and Kopyczynce. They are in the Ternopil region, about 135 miles southeast of Lviv. That is, they are not in present-day Poland but rather in Ukraine.
Best of luck in your search,
