I believe the place is Nowy Targ. I know that what is written doesn’t look like it, but the birth record of  his daughter Victoria found on Family Search gives his birthplace as “Nowytark” which must be Nowy Targ. &lt;a href=&quot;https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NQB6-ZPF&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NQB6-ZPF&lt;/a&gt;  It is worth keeping in mind that he may have been referring to the town or to the district/county/powiat.&lt;br /&gt;

If you have not seen his marriage record, a copy from St. Aalbert's in Chicago is attached.&lt;br /&gt;
