I don't know much about trying to learn where people were born on Canadian records.

In the US, we mostly use the WW I & WW 2 draft registrations, ship manifests and citizenship records to find birth places for our Polish ancestors. If we have no luck there sometimes you can find them on their marriage license applications, children's birth records and obituaries.

I'm a member ancestry.com. You might want to try a two week trial period with them. That is free. I think you would probably want the international version of their database. I just have the US database.

Good luck to you.
Good afternoon,

I am search for information on my Great Grandparents as we don't have any information prior to their immigration to Canada, other than they were all from Ukraine/Poland. Their surnames are Gulewich, Lukye, Daneluik, Wawryk and Manke. It would be wonderful to narrow down the region in which they originated so we can visit in the future and learn about traditional customs. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,
