Glad you may have a match! After you get the record translated, you may also want to post in Cherie Vanden Berg's thread about Świlcza and mention all the names you learn associated with your great grandparents https://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?p=27083 in case anybody is following that thread and recognizes the names. If there is a possibility that any of their children were born in Poland before they came to America, Cherie indexed some birth records.
Have you seen this discussion about Świlcza https://forum.polishorigins.com/viewtopic.php?p=27083 ? It sounds like Cheri Vanden Berg indexed some of the birth records.

This is a long shot, but I found a POSSIBLE 1900 match for your grandparent's marriage here https://szukajwarchiwach.pl/59/1117/0/-/13/skan/full/yIQKr5iQOANFJpZ9TFhPAw The names are in latin - possibly Paulus Buda and a Catherina - I have lots of trouble with the handwriting - the ages are close.

Do you have your great grandmother's maiden name? If not, looking at baptismal records for the children could have that. Where did they live in the US?

Good luck.
Diane

Hi Diane!
This actually looks like it could be them! My great grandmothers maiden name was Skryzpek and while I’m having a hard time with the handwriting too - it looks like that is what is written down. Now I just need to translate it to be sure!

Thank you so much!

                                      Hello!
Ive been trying to trace back my polish roots, and Ive seem to have reached a dead end.
Here is what I know:
My 2nd grandmother Katrazyna (or Catherine) was born in Swilcza, January 1878
Her husband Paul Buda (or Pavel or Paulus, we’re not really sure, just know it was likely Americanized) was born sometime in 1876, also in Swilcza.

They were likely married in 1900 (in the 1930s census Paul lists himself as being 24 at his age of first marriage) And were in New York with children by 1905.

I’ve tried searching the http://www.szukajwarchiwach.pl/ but I mostly feel lost - not even sure if I’m looking at records for the right time or place.

If someone has any direction for me, or at least can say “If that information is correct these are the records you would find them in” I would be eternally greatful.
