Tak nazywano najczęściej, ludzi którzy wzbudzali ruch narodowy, aby wyprzeć z terenów węgiersko-chorwackich Turków Osmańskich, i uniezależnić się od wpływów Węgierskiej autonomii Cesarstwa Austriackiego. Podczas powstania węgierskiego w drugiej połowie XVIII wieku, wielu neutralnych Chorwatów wyemigrowało z terenów objętych powstaniem, na tereny dzisiejsze Rosji, Polski, Ukrainy i innych krajów słowiańskich.

History
The word has colonial roots from the Hungarian-Croatian territories inhabited by Ottoman Turks from the second half of the 16th century. In the concept of that indigenous people, the word meant someone who brought up, say, a mother. This was the most common term for people who raised the national movement to oust the Ottoman Turks from the Ottoman Turks and become independent of the influence of the Hungarian autonomy of the Austrian Empire.
During the Hungarian uprising in the second half of the 18th century, many neutral Croats emigrated from the areas covered by the uprising to the territories of Russia, Poland, Ukraine and other Slavic countries.
