Hello,

You may already know this... Family Search has records available for the village you are looking for. They have Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox. The RC records for the year you need are locked which means you have to view them from a family research center near you. However, if you just want to look around to see if can find the surname in records for other years, here is the link. You have to copy and paste the whole link into your browser. If you click on it below, it will not work for some reason.

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=143942&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Ukraine%2C%20L′viv%2C%20Bus′k%2C%20Toporiv%22&subjectsOpen=737828-50

All the best,
Hello,I am new to the forum. I am searching for the potopnik family. My father was of polish origin and was born in toporow which is now toporiv ukraine. His name was Piotr potopnik 8th November 1927. I had some research done last year with a Ukraine researcher, he went to toporiv to see if there was relatives there, and researched potopnik family’s in the area. There was no family’s related to my father. He thinks my fathers family moved away from ukraine. However he found a marriage record at historical archives of ukraine, Lviv. The marriage took place at toporow Roman Catholic Church 24th July 1921 bridegroom:paulus potopnik son of Andreas and parascevia potopnik. Bride: Anastasia woronowska daughter of the late antonii and catharinae woronowska. There are no birth records for my father or his siblings (5sisters 2brothers) he thinks they may have gone to Greek Catholic Church and there is no records available at present. I would like to see if anyone has any more information, and maybe they moved across to Poland. Regards. Derek.
