Franciscan Catholics in Polish territories

Does anyone know how much difference there was between Catholic and Franciscan parishes in 18th and 19th century Poland and Polish territories? Were there ever cases where they both had separate presences in certain cities or towns, and their own circles of influence? And were marriages between members of both parishes ever treated differently (like marriages between members of Roman Catholic vs Greek Catholic parishes, etc.)? I'm curious because I haven't been finding records which are supposed to be there, and wonder if maybe I'm checking the wrong order.
