My ggrandparents were from Myszyniec. My grandmother said there was a big fire in town that destroyed everything including the city buildings, schools etc.. She couldn't remember if it was during WW1 or in the 1920s. She was born in 1908 and she left Myszyniec in the mid 1920. To my knowledge there are no surviving old records from Myszyniec at least not Jewish records.
My understanding is that Poland has 100 year privacy limit to open old records, but direct descendants (with a proof) can have access earlier.

Hi, Anettka

From my experience I have found records from places that are not listed in Pradziad or LDS database, even using "keyword search" rather than "place search". In cases like these, I have checked major villages around the one I was interested in, and looked it there was a note such as "surronding area include" or similar. Another clue that may be helpfull is that sometimes people from a given village used to be registered in two different parishes, maybe due to the same distance between them. For instance, people living in Milewlo appeasr both in Drobin parish as in Koziebrody parish as well.

Since the names/rule of places were changing quite a bit back then, I have found some records attached to places I wouldn't have guessed. Maybe you can check nearby towns/administrative districts?
Best of luck to you!

Ah! Thanks for your reply. Mine would not be Jewish records. I am surprised there are any of any kind from Myszyniec...I would have guessed they'd have been kept in the town, but then I don't know anything about keeping of the older ones that are Jewish. I keep hoping that they were taken away during one of the conflicts there and are hiding in some archive...like in Bela Rus, Ukraine, Lithuania, or ?

I know that there are existing records for other towns/parishes in the area; my ggpa from Myszyniec married a woman from Baranowo...not too far away and NW of Ostroleka...most of those records exist and are in Pultusk archives. Only record I have for ggpa from Myszyniec is marriage record since they married in HER parish!

                                      Hi anettka,

I found these documents by searching Jewish Record Indexing - Poland at http://www.jewishgen.org/jri-pl/jriplweb.htm. I did many searches before I found records I thought were promising.

When you do a search on JRI, it will tell you where the records are located. In my case, it said the records were at the Polish State Archive, Fond 572 in Warszawa Archive Mlawa Branch.

I emailed the Mlawa branch of the Polish State Archive with a list of the records I wanted (JRI offers instructions on emailing the archive here: http://www.jewishgen.org/jri-pl/psa/neworder.htm.

The archive responded with the price for scans of the documents. I wired them the money and they emailed me scans of the documents.

There were a couple of times that a month or two went by and hadn't heard back from the archive, so I'd email them again to check on my request and they were very good about getting back to me.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if there is any other info I can provide.

I am wondering where you found the record. My gpa's paternal line is from Mysyniec and I have been trying to find records from the timeframe prior to 1900 without luck. I was there a number of years ago and the lady in the civil records office said they had noting prior to about 1903. Many others have tried to find them...nothing in Archives in Pultusk either.

Where were you able to find the records?
