I see I wrote the wrong year on the death date of Jan. He died in 1891, not 1890. Sorry!

Wow, thank you so much. It looks like my grandmother was named after her grandmother, Marianna. Since I can't read Polish, I never would have found this information on my own.

Hello,
I found the death record of your great-great-grandmother, Marianna Sanecka nee Kilianek. She died in Kurozwęki at the age of 68, on October 29th, 1904. She left behind her husband Jan. In this document, it is also stated that her parents were Błażej Kilianek and Katarzyna nee Małobencka*
Surnames can also appear as Małobęcka.
It looks like there are no more names/dates to look up for your ancestors.
I found the siblings/spouses of your great grandmother Jadwiga Janik nee Sanecka, but don't know if it is something you are looking for.

Thank you, Barb. It is so nice to piece together my grandmother's family history. The ancestors would be amazed that so much information about them is available online. I wish my father could have seen all this.

Hi,
Here is some information about Jan Sanecki (Jadwiga's father)
Attaches his death record from Kurozwęki parish.

Jan Senecki, died on January 6th,1919, in Kurozwęki, 75 years old, mason, a widower, a son of Sebastian and Salomea the Sanecki spouses from Kurozwęki.
----
Jan was born abt. 1844
Marianna died before 1918

It looks like it's the same last name. A bit unclearly written. Great-grandmothers may have been siblings or cousins, or not related.

So my great grandparents both married Kilianeks? Were they first cousins? They always warn you to be careful what you might find in your genealogy.

This is the most important thing from the 1888 marriage record of your great-grandparents:
It happened in Kurozwęki on July 22nd, 1898, at 2 p.m.
Stanisław Janik, a bachelor, a worker, 23 years old, who was born and living in Kurozwęki, a son of the late Wicenty and living Wiktoria nee Kilianek (?)
Jadwiga Sanecka, a miss, 22 years old, who was born and living in Kurozwęki, a daughter of Jan and Marianna nee Kilianek (?)

Stanislaw was born abt. 1865
Jadwiga was born abt. 1866

Thank you! I couldn't be sure if these were her brothers since their parents were not listed in Geneteka. So many children died young! I wish I had asked my grandmother what her life was like in Poland. Thanks again for your help in completing her story.

I hit "Submit", but my post does not appear. Thank you for finding my grandmother's birth date. I was also hoping to find her brothers and sisters, and to see what other resources are available to research her family. Geneteka does not show her whole family. Thanks for your help. I am looking for information about my grandmother, Marianna Janik Ziejewski. She was born in 1898 in Kurozweki, and her parents were Stanislaw Janik and Jadwiga Sanecka. Geneteka does not list her month and day of birth, nor does it list any of her siblings. I would like to know more about her family of origin. What other resources could I consult?
