Hi Barb,
Oh, so that is the name of the village! Now I am able to see that in the writing. Well, ok, I see Wasilczykach but I know to subtract the ending and add the i.
Thanks,
I am trying to figure out the maiden name of my GG's mother. It's the last few lines of the attached image.

Rozalia Pietrewicz, maiden, daughter of Kazmierz and (the) deceased Marianna Pietrewiczowna of the (married couple) Pietrewicz

If that is correct does this mean Marianna's born name was Pietrewicz also? or is it more likely that they didn't know her born name and used her married surname?

I'm also having trouble making out the lines after that. Would greatly appreciate any help! Thank youl

Hi,

The way it is written, Marianna's surname at birth was also Pietrewicz. If it was unknown, it could have been so stated, or left out altogether. Now the question is, was that correct or was it an error inserted by a distracted scribe? I would take it at face value, unless you are able to prove by other records that it is not correct.

Here is what I see, for the following lines that you asked about (if I get it wrong, I hope Barb will correct me):

…. Maryanny z Pietrewiczow małżonkow Pietrewiczow lat dwadziescia jeden mającą we wsi [village name?] zrodzoną i takze przy Ojcu zostającą. Małżenstwo to poprzedzily....

I left a question mark for the village name. Hopefully you already know what to expect there.

Best regards,
