Karp
Karpet
Karpet (the t being the letter l with bar on top)
Karpinski

In research I have come across several documents (baptism and marriage records in Chicago, Illinois) that have listed the above names Karp and Karpet or Karpel for the same person and Karpinski as a godparent's name.

Are the four last names noted actually the same name but with different gender endings????

According to www.herby.com.pl there is Karp and Karpel. No Karpet neither Karpeł, though there is Karpeta.
Karpiński. Feminine form Karpińska.
I don't know the feminine form for Karp. Maybe Karpowa, not sure.
