You are right PolishLibrarian, the German Buchwald in the old Murzynowo Koscielne parish is today's Bukowy Las.

I found in one of Polish family genealogy sites a short paragraph about history of the village: http://www.petrvs.pl/lopatka/dzieje_rodu.htm and translated by google translate: http://goo.gl/JOQMQ - see the paragraph starting with "Since 1798 the Prussian authorities..."

Hi Michael~ Hope this second attempt posts. Apparently Buchwald is German for Beech Forest. So I wondered what is the Polish word(s) for Beech Forest. Google translate says Las Bukowy or Bukowy Las. So I searched for a Bukowy Las Poland and found it on this map http://mapcarta.com/18549804 just a short distance NE of Murzynowo Koscielne (maybe a couple of kilometers). If this was part of the Prussia then the German name of this village could have been Buchwald. It's just a fairly educated guess on my part. Hope it helps. PL

The town is from the record books from the parish in Murzynowo Koscielne just southwest of Wresnia. I am unable to locate this town. I think it say Buchwald? Kolonia Buchwald? It is listed many many times in the record books from 1813 to 1886, that is the only years available though LDS. I have attached a couple different images of the town name. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there are any questions, please ask and I can give more information.

Thanks again,
