I will not help you but my mother comes from Lukomka, now Mierzecin and it's about 5 km from Szczutowo, and probably 10 km to Skrwilno. I visited those places a lot of times riding bicycle. There is a polish non-gov digitalization project. They index 2 mln new records and take 7 mln of pictures by year.

Almost a year later, I have a good deal more information and, of course, a new puzzle to solve.

I found the birth record of Katarzyna Klimowska (my great grandmother). She was born in Szczutowo, Śweidziebnia parish on 22 Jun 1859 and her parents were Jan Klimowski, born ~1832, and Agnieszka Krajnik, born ~1833, died 11 Apr 1892 in Szczutowo. I also found the birth records for nearly all of Katarzyna's siblings. Parents of Jan Klimowski are as yet unknown. Parents of Agnieszka Krajnik were Pawel Krajnik and Katarzyna Trędowicz.

My suspicions about the change to the surname Deborski were confirmed with the discovery of the marriage record of Katarzyna Klimowska to Franciszek Tyburski in Śweidziebnia parish on 13 Feb 1881. An image of that record is attached. The records of birth for my grandfather, Konstanty Tyburski, and all of his siblings were also found. The marriage record also shows that Franciszek Tyburski was born in Okalewo and his parents were Szymon Tyburski and Marianna Szemborska.

Microfilms of records for Okalewo, Skrwilno parish, were obtained from the LDS and I was very hopeful that I would find a number of birth and marriage records. I did find the birth record for Franciszek (image attached) and many records for other Tyburski/Tyburska births and marriages, but none that were directly related.

So, my new puzzle is where were Szymon and Marianna married? They were probably from a nearby parish, but I am having a bit of trouble figuring out which parishes are located most closely. I've searched, looked at maps, etc., but I'm not narrowing the possible parishes to a workable few yet.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thank you and Merry Christmas to all

I am trying to find connections in Poland with my ancestors who emigrated around 1900. Some of the information I have:
Frank Klimowski, born about 1843 in Brodnica (?), wife's name unknown
His children:
Katherine, born about June 1859
Konstanty, born about August 1863
Frank, date of birth unknown
Joseph, born about 1870

Katherine married Frank Deborski, their children were:
Jan, born about 1883 in Poland
Helen, born about 1884 in Poland
Costek, born about March 1888 in Poland
Mary, born about April 1889 in Poland
Sophie, born about September, 1899 in Colorado, USA
Frank, born April 25, 1901 in Colorado, USA

I have found Katherine and the oldest 5 children arriving through Galveston in November 1898. Their surname is listed as Tuburska. We have long suspected that the name was changed to Deborski sometime in the past.

Konstanty Klimowski married Julia Cymanski, she is said to have been born in Śweidziebnia. They had a son, Wacie, who was born in Rypin, according to his WWI draft registration card. I believe that the older Klimowski's may have been born or lived in Brodniczka rather than Brodnica as all census record indicate they were from Russian Poland rather than German Poland. I have also found ship records for others in the Cymanski family that listed the residence clearly as Brodniczka.

Joseph Klimowski married Apalonia Pawlak after he arrived in the U.S. They lived in the Chicago area.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
