The groom in this record is about 36 and there is no hint he was widowed.

Can you please have a look at this marriage record please. I believe it could be for a relative - Chełmo Parish - Józef Liebert, widower, age about 63. If not, then no need to translate, it may be a distant relative not yet found.

Christina Lechner, wife of Nicolaus Francot, a day laborer, 60 years old, residing in Rümmelsheim, deceased on April 5, 1826 in Rümmelsheim, her age 57 years minus four days. Her parents were Johannes Lechner, a day laborer, and his wife Apolonia Lukas, both deceased in Rümmelsheim.

Can someone please translate this it's from my maternal side? I know this ancestor died April 5, 1826, in Rümmelsheim and Nicolas Francot was her spouse, but I believe her parents are also mentioned in this document? Also, her surname Lechner reminds me of the Lech, Czech, and Rus founding legend.

This is what I read:

Witkowo on 7 September 1896.
Before the undersigned registrar appeared today for the purpose of marriage:

1. the laborer Stanislaus Kujawa, on known identity, of Catholic confession, born on 7 September 1874 in Witkowo, Kreisstadt [county seat], residing in Witkowo, son of the laborer Waltert Kujawa, deceased in Witkowo, and his wife Wladislowna [unsure about this name, looks as if her given name is missing] née Rytacka, residing in Witkowo;

2. the unmarried maid Hedwig Mikolojczak [the long comment on the right margin just states her name is Mikolajczak, not Mikolojczak], of known identity, of Catholic confession, born on 4 October 1874 in Zelatkowo [might mean Zelaskowo], Kreis [county] Witkowo, residing in Witkowo, daughter of the unmarried laborer Catharina Mikolojczak, deceased in Ostrowitte tremessen. [The short comment on the right margin states the words ‘residing in’ were deleted.]

As witnesses:

3. the mason Joseph Nowicki, of known identity, 40 years old, residing in Witkowo Dorf,

4. the mason Michael Racholski, of know identity, 25 years old, residing in Witkowo.

In the presence of the witnesses the registrar asked the engaged couple individually and one after the other whether they wanted to marry each other. The engaged couple answered in the affirmative and the registrar then declared that they were now legally joined in marriage under the Civil Code.

Read out, approved and signed.

Hi,

I am attaching a screen shot that shows you one way to narrow it down. You see in the search box I entered Hiemer which is probably how you also began. But the key parameter is below that, where I suggest you change the default from "topics" to "replies" where it asks how you want the results displayed.

Note: Be certain of your spelling. A search for Hiemer gets different results than a search for Heimer. I know you are asking about Hiemer because you have mentioned that name before, but I am just using this as an example of what to watch out for.

Hopefully this will get you to what you hoped to find,

Thank you for going into so much detail, Michael! This is wonderful. Very interesting about the Pontow name. I suppose it was bound to happen that a Pontow would marry a Pontow at some point; there seem to be lots of them in that area at that time!

I found the 1834 birth record too, but it appears that that particular Henriette sadly died only 10 months later. However, there is another Henriette (Ponto, no "w") born in June of 1836. I've got some work ahead of me determining if this is the right match, but this is a great start.

We know from his birth record that his parents were Johann Stern and Henriette Pontow.
